Century Entertainment has been planning to open a new casino in Cambodia for a long time but has yet to receive government approval. Despite numerous delays, Century Entertainment has still been waiting to open its new casino in Dara Sakor, as the number of COVID-19 cases in Cambodia continues to rise. Things do not appear to be going in their favor.
Century Entertainment has made no further progress in its plans to build a new casino in Cambodia, where it hopes to relocate its gaming desk operations. Because of government provisions, they will have to slow down and reconsider the casino’s launch date as the COVID-19 caseload grows. The property’s official opening date has already been pushed back three times, with the first date set for February. The casino was supposed to open by March, but the most recent COVID-19 outbreak hit Cambodia in March, putting the project on hold yet again.
Century Leisure’s Cambodian gaming venture is still in the works despite signing an agreement of five years with Lion King in the year 2019 to have four gaming tables in operation at Ng Man Solar’s casino.
Despite this, the property will be kept on standby, but preparations will continue because Century’s casino will be ready to go once the government approves it, but no one knows how long it will take for things to return to normal.
The response of Cambodia to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic is critical. According to WHO data, the number of cases in Cambodia has been steadily increasing since April.
The new venue will have a 10,500 square meters large floor, seven niu-niu poker tables, ten baccarat tables, and other attractions such as blackjack, live poker, sic bo, twenty mass gaming tables, twenty-five VIP tables, and a Chinese restaurant when it is finished. Doesn’t it sound like a gaming squad’s dream?
Century Entertainment might be allowed to have more than four tables operating in the casino under the revised agreement signed in February with Lion King. The company is currently awaiting an impartial valuer’s valuation of every gaming desk at the new location. The tables will almost certainly be used primarily for baccarat, with the corporate allowed to keep 100% of the prize money and 100% of the losses.
“No significant progress has been made on the re-opening preparation works of the new casino, which include operations work as well as casino employee training,” the property’s owner stated last week.
While Century Entertainment awaits its grand opening, it will be interesting to see how this new casino will entertain customers with a plethora of gaming amenities.
