Online Casino Gaming Removed From Seminole Tribe Compact

The online casino gaming sector witnessed a surge in 2021, but Florida has put a brake on its run. Chris Sprowls (the House Speaker) made an announcement this Monday that online casino gaming will be removed from the Compact with the Seminole Tribe.

Naturally, the news startled every gaming and gambling enthusiast in the state. Chris went on to state that several authorities have shared their concerns regarding the predicament. The language of the compact could result in expanding the online gaming domain. Chris stated that the mere possibility of that happening was a big no.

Chris was not the sole official that openly took action as Governor Ron DeSantis directly engaged with the matter as well. It resulted in Florida completely removing every conversation possibility of online casino gaming throughout the state.

The announcement came out in Tallahassee, where the week-long Special Session is taking place. Numerous lawmakers explored Seminole Tribe’s gambling compact, and the verdict is here. Florida’s online casino gaming future will be dictated by the Compact, which is a 75-page long document.

Randy Fine (Representative of Brevard County Republican) stated that the online casino gaming clause was the most important issue with the Gaming Compact. The masses did not agree to online gaming machines from their homes.

However, the Compact will receive some ratification in return. If all goes well, leaders may be looking at a high-edge figure of 2.5 billion dollars in the form of new revenue. The amount will be provided over the next 5 years and another 6 billion dollars through 2030.

Interestingly enough, the move was opposed by Jeb Bush (Florida Governor). According to Jeb, the current time isn’t right to expand casino gambling in the state. Through the provisions, this move will allow card and slot rooms to function throughout the week, instead of only on weekends.

While Friday is supposed to be the day when the Legislature gets authorization, Sprowls believes the Session will wrap up on Wednesday itself.
