$48M Charged for the Gulf Coast Casinos’ Repairs

The recent news discovered the extremity of the havoc caused by Hurricane Zeta and the aftermath dealt by Biloxi Casinos. The Biloxi Town has taken the matter into consideration and put out permits to restore the destruction caused by the storm. Several restorations are to be made, such as fixing the externally deteriorated buildings, plumbing, and electric functions, and basement parking spaces, which were affected due to the floods caused by the storm.

The Town of Mississippi constitutes 26 casinos, and Gulf Coast has 12 of them, including the eight casinos of Biloxi. Out of the eight casinos, four have made an agreement with Yates construction, a local company, to restore the destruction caused by the havoc. Many casinos in the zone were shut down during the sweep. Most of them would remain shut until the static current supply is repaired; however, only a few of them have resumed work, delivering their services, while others are undergoing renovations.

The company has put forward construction reforms, which add up to $48M to recover the disfigurements of the consulted casinos. The permissions for restorations have been sanctioned to Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Beau Rivage Casino and Resort, Harrah’s Gulf Coast Hotel, and Casino IP Resort Casino and Spa, as stated by Biloxi Sun Herald.

On October 28, in the early morning, Hurricane Zeta hit Cocodrie, Louisiana, near the south of New Orleans. The wind currents moved at 100 miles per hour (ca. 161 km/h) and entered Crescent city. It thrashed over six people and traveled to the east of Mississippi and further on. Louisiana is prone to hurricanes in this season, and Zeta is the fifth to hit the city.

In this hurricane seasons, the town has seen 30 labeled hurricanes making a record in 2020. The Delta, Eta, and Storms Ion had wind currents, which escalated to 100 miles per hour (ca. 161 km/h) within 03 to 04 hours, which is a rare event that took place after 169 years. This period comes to an end on November 30, but there is no promise for the culmination of future havoc.
